EVERY STUDENT IN A FULL MENTORSHIP HAS THE OPTION TO TAKE ONE FREE COURSE AUDIT IN ADDITION TO THEIR FULL MENTORSHIP CLASS. COURSE AUDITS CAN ALSO BE PURCHASED INDEPENDENTLY FOR $495.
WHAT IS A COURSE AUDIT?
The core of the SmArt School program is the highly interactive long term mentorships with high level professionals and industry guests reviewing student work. Students have a regular interchange with their teachers who respond to students in a customized small class setting.
Yet, we recognize that simply observing such a class can also be enriching. So we allow a maximum of twenty five students to enroll as 'audit only' students in each course.
Auditing students simply log in to observe a class. They:
For some artists an audit can be the perfect thing. Audits are:
George Pratt's "Gesture & Atmosphere in Graphic Novels & Illustration" can't be audited, due to extensive use of proprietary materials in the class.
Only twenty five students are allowed to audit each course as 'audit only' students. Students using their FREE Audit option are not included in this number. FREE audit students are always assured a place in the course they would like to audit. When you enroll in a full mentorship you get a FREE audit.

- can observe all fourteen weeks.
- can join the chat box with the other students while class is in session.
- will receive email notice in the event of a class being unexpectedly canceled (canceled classes will be added to the end of the calendar so that all students can have the full 14 weeks of their course).
- don't show work to, ask questions of, email, or otherwise ask for the teacher's time and attention.
- do not receive class materials, syllabuses, assignments, etc.
- must observe during class time (like the full mentorship students) because classes are not recorded.
For some artists an audit can be the perfect thing. Audits are:

- lower commitment
- good for students who learn best through observation
- a nice way to get to know the SAS community
- good for people who want to see what a mentorship is like before enrolling in the full program
