SmArt School enrolls on a first come, first served basis. Because the classes are small they can sometimes fill up very quickly. So we're providing this guide to try to help everyone have as smooth of an experience as possible.
Every browser and operating system does things differently. We're trying to give the best guidance but we can't anticipate everything that may happen. We are also dealing with human made software, and it is possible for it to get overloaded.
First Step: Click the Enrollment button
Before enrollment opens go to class page of the mentorship you want. On the class page you will see a black button that says "Click Here To Enroll" That button is live now--so you should click it.
Second Step: Go to the bottom of the Next page
The next page is the booking page. It has the gryphons at the top. Scroll down.
Prepare for enrollment to open at 12pm Noon ET on Sunday, December 4.
The bottom of the booking page will look like the image below. If you want to be very quick to enroll, refresh this web page immediately at 12pm ET on December 4. The button that says "Unavailable" in the image below will then say "Select". You must click the "Select" button, then click the "View Selections" button as quickly as possible.
and there's one more step!
Click the "Book Now" button on the next page. See the image below. If you are concerned about time, click the "Book Now" button as quickly as possible.
then you have a moment
After you click "Book Now" you will have 15 minutes to complete your booking. Be prepared to provide the student's name, email, and phone number. You can also provide the student's website and social media handles.
And you should be prepared to choose your free audit. A complete list of the audits available is in the image below. Note: There are no audits available for George Pratt's or Martin Wittfooth's classes.
Finally: remember that you will have to fill out payment information, too. That can be tricky if paying with PayPal Credit. More information on that below.
payment for smart school
The payment system we use is PayPal. They accept most major credit cards and debit cards with a major credit card logo. They can also offer payment via bank transfer if it is set up ahead of time. All these methods of payment should go as smoothly as they go on any commerce site.
IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON USING PAYPAL CREDIT BE PREPARED!
This is not about people using the regular PayPal payment process. PayPal Credit is different. It is a credit payment service available for people in the US. It must be set up prior to enrollment. It is the best payment plan option we know of but it does have issues. Often it does not show up as an option at check out.
If you signed up for PayPal Credit, you are relying on it, and it does not show up at check out, email me: Matt at firstname.lastname@example.org
Put "PayPal Credit" in the subject line. When I see your email I will hold your spot in class and send you an invoice where you will be able to pay using PayPal Credit. Prepare this email beforehand if you are signing up for a quick-filling class. We will try to respond as quickly as possible, especially during the first hours of enrollment. Yet, if at all possible, try not to use PayPal Credit for the quickest filling classes.
what classes fill quickly?
We can't predict what enrollment will be like. In recent semesters Cynthia Sheppard's class has filled up within seconds. Donato Giancola's has also filled up quickly. Almost all classes fill up by the end of the enrollment period. Some take minutes some take months--They are all fabulous artists and teachers. It is wise to have a second mentorship in mind that you would like, if you can't get into your first choice.
signing up for an audit
Signing up for an audit is much lower pressure because there are more audits available. The core of SmArt School program is the small mentorship class. But we recognize that the auditing option can be best for some people. To sign up for an audit go to this page Course Audits
If you are number one through five on a waitlist for a quick filling class on the first day there is a chance you could get into that class. On the first day there can be movement in some classes. After the first couple of days there is usually very little movement on the waitlists. So you are not likely to get into a class if you are higher than number 2 on a waitlist a couple days after that class has filled. Please remove your name from any waitlists if you sign up for another mentorship.
