Alannah is a freelance fantasy illustrator and instructor at Watts Atelier in Southern California. She works traditionally in oil, graphite, and ink, to tell stories about fantastical worlds. Underpinned by her own love of nature, she likes to focus on both the people and the creatures that inhabit these worlds.
She received her B.A. in Drawing and Painting from Dartmouth College in 2013, and had a seven year career as both an in-house and freelance graphic designer. But the desire to work with pencil and paintbrush was too strong, and she returned to school at Watts Atelier in 2020 to pursue a career in illustration and imaginative realism.
When she’s not drawing or painting, you can find Alannah with a cup of coffee in hand, hanging out with her two quirky cats or out hiking in the early morning with her husband.
