*SmArt School teachers sometimes have to travel for professional reasons. If they must miss a class they will notify all students during class time and add a session to the end of the calendar. ALL CLASSES MEET LIVE and are not recorded due to proprietary content. Teaching will not happen via email, only during class time.
Conceptual Illustration With Sam WEber
Through individual portfolio assignments Sam will help his students build nuanced, conceptually-driven illustrations. The students will create the kind of thoughtful imagery used for editorials, short stories, and contemporary fiction. They will learn to problem-solve the process of building nuanced communications through evocatively layered symbols. Towards the end of the semester a special industry guest will review student work.
After taking this class students will also receive the option of a free profile on the Alumni Portfolios page. Visit the Alumni Portfolios page and type a teacher's name into the search bar to see some of the artists who studied with that teacher.

What students are saying about this class
"To anyone thinking about joining Sam Weber's class--just want to step in and highly recommend it, especially for those people who might need a perspective quite different from the normal--I found Sam's input to be quite refreshing, and far different than most other teachers I have had. His range of knowledge is very useful, and his attitude as far as what art is is very refreshing..." DC McNaughton @dcmcnaughton
"Sam’s class was an amazing experience. Highly recommend it!" Luis Menacho @Luis-menacho-art “I recommend it highly” Stasia Burrington @stasiaburrington
