My name is Rachel Dawn Owens. I am an Appalachian-born Richmond Virginia raised artist who has been drawing most every day since I could hold a pencil. My father worked for a pigment mine and my mother was a nurse. I developed a passion for drawing at a young age, which I carry with me to this day.
I have worked in education, creating workbooks for kids as well as teaching my own art classes. I currently work part-time for Proko, helping students with homework.
I have spent the past several summers sweating in a field, working on a fruit farm, where I served as manager for the 2024 harvest season. It's where I went after losing my job in 2020 due to the lockdowns. It keeps me humble.
I love to draw and aim to create characters and worlds that are new, interesting, and meaningful.
