Matt Spencer is a queer illustrator from southeast Michigan. He works primarily in traditional media (ink, watercolor and gouache), creating pieces inspired by folklore, history, and nature.
His artwork appears in The Chromatic Fates Tarot, Crow & Crown’s Mausoleum and several Neon Hemlock publications including Unfettered Hexes: Queer Tales of Insatiable Darkness. When not creating work for freelance clients or Every Day Original, Matt spends his time illustrating his Courtly Beasts Tarot deck.
Matt adores any excuse to combine his deep love for watercolor & ink with his passion for fantasy, sci-fi and horror (especially when queer characters are involved). He welcomes any opportunities – especially chances to create even more work for TTRPGs, books of all sorts and tarot/oracle decks.
