Hi, my name is Jerome Stueart. I'm a freelance illustrator and writer based in Dayton, Ohio. I work with traditional materials, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, graphite, pen and ink. My work mostly concentrates on character, scene, and story. I'm inspired by whimsical illustrators like Arthur Rackham, Maurice Sendak, Shaun Tan, and Yoshi Yoshitani and many, many cover artists for the New Yorker, especially Barry Blitt, John Cuneo, Peter de Seve. My work is whimsical, fun, joyful, and often messy. Everything is also a bit thicker and larger and chubbier. Monsters, Animals, Kings, Soldiers, Kids. My work is queer, LGBTQ positive, body positive. I enjoy making people smile. I'm looking for work creating covers for magazines, illustrations for children's books, and adult fantasy and science fiction covers. Original Art is for sale.
