Dungeons & Dragons Art: from Concept to Cover
Roll a twenty with veteran D&D artist Scott M Fischer as he takes you through the stages of creating art for roll playing games like Dungeons and Dragons.
Scott has been contributing to D&D, in the pages and on the cover, for 20 years. He will apply that experience to your art, where you will create a variety of work, from conceptual designing monsters/heroes/weapons- to making interior style illustrations from those concepts- to finally creating D&D style cover with those elements. Whether you use traditional media or digital media, Scott is versed in both and will guide your hand each week via live paint overs and critiques.
The goal will be to finish the class with key portfolio pieces to show the gaming industry.
Speaking of which, we have the perfect industry guest joining us. The legend, Richard Whitters. Senior Art Director for Dungeons and Dragons, Wizards of the Coast. (Who also happens to be one of the best artists to have worked on the game. Follow him at @richardwhitters on instagram). Richard will review your work in the final class. You will get first hand experience with, and feedback from, one of the leading art directors for Dungeons and Dragons.
Note: because of the small class size you can also opt for an independent study. Scott has been a popular instructor for years because of his depth of experience in many fields: children's books, comics, gallery work, and more (see his bio). If you want to pursue other visions, Scott is more than happy to work with you on an individual basis within the small group.
After taking this class students will also receive a free profile on the Smarter Art Market
