Charis Loke is a book and editorial illustrator from Malaysia. Drawing upon literature and visual culture, she evokes wonder and curiosity through thoughtful images. Her work is rooted in Southeast Asian culture and influenced by traditions of speculative fiction.
As New Naratif's Comics and Illustrations Editor, she commissioned and worked with artists from Southeast Asia and the diasporas. Charis currently curates and art directs community storytelling projects for various nonprofits.
