Ashley Hankins is an award-winning fantasy illustrator who has experience with book covers, TTRPGs, and tarot cards.
A native of Western New York, she spent several years in Humboldt County, California, where she became enamored with the mountains and mist-shrouded forests, and felt she had truly found someplace magical. Since returning to New York, she has striven to inject her work with that same ethereal feeling she felt in those woods.
She is a primarily digital artist with a dark fantasy bent. She loves mythology, history, gothic aesthetic, and in recent years has been very interested in folk horror. She prefers work that allows her to better explore and expand upon these themes.
Most recently, she has been strongly interested in getting back to her traditional art roots, namely through oil and graphite, for personal projects. Patternmaking and embroidery are also new experimental interests.
Notification of originals and print releases can be found on her social media or by signing up for her newsletter on her website.
When she is not working on her latest project, she can be found writing, going walking in the community, and drinking excessive amounts of tea.
