Hi, I'm Alex Vercoutere! (He/Him/They/Them)
I love to paint and draw monsters, primarily using watercolor and ink. I strive to combine dynamic line work with the fluid beauty of watercolor. A few of my major artistic inspirations include:
Fantasy Tabletop RPGs
Spaces where natural growth meet urban decay
Art and artifacts of the ancient world
In 2017 I successfully published my first book through Kickstarter, Fall into Ruin, a bestiary of drawings based on the rubble strewn beaches of the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 2023 I'm aiming to pick up more freelance illustration commissions while working on my next independent project. I'm currently sketching out an illustrated guide book to Ecos, a fantasy world of my own design set in an endless overgrown labyrinth.
